'Never seen anything like this before': Doctor dumbfounded by nurses' hate video

Two Sydney nurses have been stood down indefinitely and are likely facing criminal charges after a disturbing video was posted online.

In the footage, Bankstown Hospital workers Ahmad "Rashad" Nadir and Sarah Abu Lebdeh, appear in a recorded conversation with Israeli influencer Max Veifer on the random video chat website Chatruletka.

The nurses appear to boast to Veifer they would kill Israeli patients if they had to treat them.

The video and what it contains is the latest in a spate of attacks on Australia's Jewish community and has sent shockwaves through the health industry.

While the nurses have been stood down pending the outcome of the investigation, NSW Health Minister Ryan Park told Today "they will not be working in NSW hospitals ever again" while he is minister.

For any members of Australia's Jewish community who are concerned about what this means for their safety and well-being in the public health system, emergency physician, Dr Stephen Parnis told Today the swiftness and severity of the response to this incident "speaks volumes" on how NSW Health feel about the matter.

"This is the first time I've seen anything like this from medical or nursing colleagues in this country and I hope it's the last," he said.

"We are taught, we own and we embrace our ethics from our first day as a medical student and it's about building trust, without that trust, you can't care for people - it's as simple as that."

Dr Parnis said he hoped the Jewish community and any other Australian in need of medical care knows the actions of these two nurses do not speak for the hundreds of thousands of medical professionals around the country who genuinely care and want to help those in need.

"I think this is an example of two people who've done something terrible here," he said.

"Every medical student to senior retired doctor and nursing colleague would say you treat people without any reference to their age, their gender, their religious affiliation, their ethnicity, their social status.

"We are answerable to so many on our daily behaviours because we deal with people at their most vulnerable and we are privy to things they wouldn't sometimes even share with their closest family members and among the hundreds of thousands of healthcare workers, I have never seen anything like this before."
