Sonny Bill Williams has admitted he feels confident going into his fight against fellow NRL great, Paul Gallen.

The pair will face off at Sydney's Qudos Bank Arena and there has been no shortage of sledges between the pair in the lead up to the July 16 bout.

"I've been in the gym, working hard, grinding away, now I just want to fight - give him a good hiding, then get home to my kids," Sonny Bill told Today.

Sonny Bill admitted he has been missing his family while training on the Gold Coast, but shut down suggestions this could be his last fight after recent speculation.

"No, probably not - the heart and mind are definitely in it, they're still up for the challenge," he said.

"The body, this old rig, it's been struggling to get through the last eight weeks, but we're here now, so honestly, I just want to fight.

"Not because I love fighting, but because I'm over the training, it's been a it's been a tough couple of months, but it's really been a time of growth as a boxer."
