'A man child': Hollywood A-lister's son reveals what his dad is really like

Legendary Hollywood brat packer, Rob Lowe, has had decades of success both on TV and the big screen.

And with season two of his hit Netflix comedy, Unstable making audiences laugh just as loud as the first season, it seems keeping it in the family is the recipe for his latest win.

Rob and his real life son, John Owen, star in the series about a father-son duo and the ultra successful biotech company Rob's character, Ellis Dragon started.

Attention-seeking Ellis brings his highly introverted son Jackson on board to help run things, with a lot of hilarity ensuing.

But as extreme a character as Rob plays on screen, John Owen revealed it isn't that big a stretch from what his dad is like in real life.

"I would say that I've always referred to him as a man child," he told Today Extra.

"I think that he got famous so young that his EQ (Emotional intelligence) got stunted at 18 or whatever it was, so he's just forever an 18-year-old and I actually like it - he's more of a best friend than a dad to me and I like it that way."

And while John Owen revealed he was originally hesitant to work with his dad when Unstable came along, he has learned a lot from him about how to be patient (even if he is still hesitant about working with his father).

"Truthfully, we're we're very in sync taste wise, so I will give him some credit there and say that, we kind of share a brain creatively in that sense," he said.

"And it makes things easier when we can partner up, so it's been fun working behind the scenes with him as well as executive producer."
