Dickie reviews Tarantino's new film 'Once Upon a Time in Hollywood'

It is one of the most anticipated films of the year - the ninth in the spectacular career of acclaimed filmmaker Quentin Tarantino. The film features the hottest, and most expensive, acting talent on the planet. It's called Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.

 So welcome to tinsel town in the hit year of 1969, and the glory days of hippie, happy Hollywood. Enter Rick Dalton, played by Leonardo DiCaprio, a former star of the TV western series Bounty Law, who hangs out with his stunt double, Cliff Booth, played by Brad Pitt. Rick meets a major fan in Marvin Schwarz, played by Al Pacino.

While Rick's star is on the wane, his new next door neighbours are doing just fine - director Roman Polanski and his wife actress Sharon Tate. Played by Aussie Margot Robbie, Sharon is the 'it' girl, destined for big things.

Meantime on the other side of town, Cliff meets a bunch of hippies known as the Manson family who decide to play a visit to the sleepy cul-de-sac in the Hollywood Hills. Aussie Damon Herriman as cult leader Charles Manson.

There are several intertwining story lines, Cliff (Brad Pitt) looking extraordinary, Rick (Leonardo DiCaprio) giving us a look behind the scenes. The two of them are just absolutely faultless. Likewise, Margot Robbie as Sharon is amazing. Perfect casting.

You must see this before someone ruins it for you. There is a major plot twist that you just won't see coming as Tarantino's love letter to Hollywood in the 60s hurtles towards its anticipated climax. It's controversial, it's hilarious, and it's fabulous. It's a major motion picture well worthy of all the hype. It's called Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, just see it. Four stars.
