Prince Harry finally reunites with King after lengthy absence

King Charles has made it a priority to meet with his son, during Prince Harry's latest UK visit.

The Duke of Sussex is in town for a series of charity events, as well as marking the third anniversary of his grandmother, the Queen's, death.

But while speculation remained as to whether the King would fly in from Scotland to meet with his youngest son, the pair have sat down, albeit for a brief face-to-face.

"It possibly would have been a bigger story if they hadn't met, because it would have been seen as a huge snub for Harry," Daily Mirror royal editor, Russell Myers told Today.

"He's been in the country for four days and been doing a lot of charity work, donated $1 million pounds to Children in Need, so the King had been up in Scotland, but flew in yesterday afternoon to see him.

"That lasted 55 minutes and at an event tonight, Harry said the meeting 'went really well and the King is great', so a win win for both."

But while the King has made the effort, the jury is still out on whether Harry's brother, William, will want to meet him.

"He is not going to meet Harry on this trip or possibly any trip in the future, because he certainly feels that Harry has has made his bed, so he's got to lie in it and William's got more important things to worry about," Russell said.

"For the King to meet Harry is a big, big step and Harry had spoken of reconciliation previosuly, but in terms of William sitting around the table for him, I cannot see that happening any time soon.

"Certainly William feels very, very aggrieved about what Harry has done to this family."
