Brooke takes in the sights atop the Eiffel Tower

Brooke Boney was missing from this morning's show, but with good reason.

The Today news and entertainment presenter is continuing her tour of Paris this week and today climbed to the top of the iconic Eiffel Tower.

"This structure is one of the most magnificent things I've ever seen in my life and I had tears in my eyes as I walked out and saw the view across this beautiful city," she said.

It's been a whole day of wonder for Brookie.

Not only did she get a bird's eye view of the city of lights, including the beach volleyball court directly underneath the tower, the Seine River gearing up for Friday's Olympic Opening Ceremony and all the other Paris icons including the Arc de Triomphe and Champs-Élysées.

Brooke also got to indulge in one of her favourite things - chocolate!

"I felt like it was my duty to try out a few of the different kinds of chocolate, just to make sure it's okay for the rest of you," she said.

"The chef in charge of the whole workshop showed us around, showed us the beginning process right through to the end and then we topped it all off with a coffee-flavoured beer - it was non-alcoholic, don't worry."

Brooke will continue with her tour of Paris tomorrow so stay tuned.
