If you want a super-sized serving of Southern hospitality, then look no further than the US city of New Orleans.

With the perfect mix of some of the country's best food, music and culture, it's no wonder New Orleans has again been chosen to host "the biggest show on turf", the Super Bowl.

And Jack Hahn was invited to visit the city of jazz, to show Today viewers just what it is that makes New Orleans so very special.

"New Orleans was crippled by Hurricane Katrina in 2004 and despite a damage bill of close to $200 billion, the city nicknamed the Big Easy has bounced back," Hahn said.

"Now, nearly 20 years later, the city's culture, weather and even warmer people is drawing in millions of visitors every year - and it's not hard to see why."

New Orleans is truly a city which never sleeps and locals who Jack spoke with assured him visitors will never get bored while staying there.

The party atmosphere is everywhere you look, as is the Creole influence.

And with all the culture and magic in New Orleans, locals even had a little boogie with Jack. Today

Jack sampled one of Turkey and the Wolf's incredible, stacked sandwiches, which people line up for sometimes hours to get their hands on.

He also enjoyed a trip down the mighty Mississippi River on a historic paddle boat which navigated the alligator-infested waters.

And of course, a visit to this incredible city wouldn't be complete without a visit to the iconic Caesar's Superdome, which is the home ground to the New Orleans Saints and is hosting its eighth Super Bowl on February 9.
