Today is Guinness World Record Day and Karl and Sarah wanted to see if they could get their names in the history books with a new feat.

The show is already attached to a current record, with professional eater, Isaac Harding-Davis, managing to consume the most ice cream (806 grams) in one minute live on air back in 2017.

So this morning, the hosts wanted to try and get their names in the book for another food-related feat.

"We are going to try to set a new world record for the most eggs cracked in 30 seconds with one hand," Sarah said.

The team brought in Guinness World Records adjudicator, Brian Sobel, to officiate the attempt.

Specifically, the hosts had to take alternating turns, cracking more than 17 eggs, one at a time, into individual bowls with one arm behind their back.

Brian informed them all of the cracked egg filling must make it into the bowl without spills and any shell left behind would result in a disqualification.

Karl and Sarah managed to crack just 10 eggs between them before the 30 second timer sounded.

But sadly, Brian informed them most of the cracked eggs that did end up in the bowl had a lot of shell left behind, "one of many disqualifications identified".

And a very competitive Karl was not impressed.

With a sour look on his face, he smashed the egg he was still holding onto the table and stormed out of the studio to sulk.

"Karl! Talk about spitting the dummy - how about throwing the egg," a stunned Sarah said as she wiped splattered egg from Karl's outburst off her clothes.
