Classic '80s banger covered by original yellow Wiggle

He's better known for entertaining children with songs like Fruit Salad and Hot Potato, but former yellow Wiggle Greg Page has just released a cover of one of the biggest rock hits of the '80s.

A Good Heart was a chart-topper for Northern Irish singer Feargal Sharkey in 1985 and now Page has recorded his own version for a cause close to his heart.

"You can't take the entertainer out of the old Wiggle - it's a great song and I enjoyed doing the cover of it," Page told Today.

"I've recorded A Good Heart as a call to action for people."

Page is an ambassador for Flora Proactiv and has filmed a video clip to go with the song as a reminder for people to look after their heart health.

"The video runs for four minutes and during the time you watch that video, tragically, one Australian will suffer either a heart attack or a stroke," he said.

"Every four minutes, so go out, do what you can this National Heart Week, get your cholesterol checked and do what you can to lower it."

Page himself suffered cardiac arrest three years ago while performing with the original Wiggles lineup.

Thankfully there was someone at the concert who knew how to treat him, but doctors said he would need to change his diet to minimise the risk of it happening again.

"I had to lower my cholesterol and when I found (Flora Proactiv) - one tablespoon can lower your cholesterol by 10 per cent," he said.

"If you need to lower your cholesterol, switch to Proactiv and please go see your GP to get your health checked."
