DIY Breakfast Table
Materials – Pick up from the hardware store
- 285 × 19mm Dressed Pine – 1 @ 1200mm
- 89 × 19mm Dressed Pine – 2 @ 1200mm
- 42 × 19mm Dressed Pine – 2 @ 1200mm
- 25.4mm Timber Dowel – 1 @ 1200mm
- M8 × 65mm Bolts – 4
- M8 Wing Nuts – 4
- 40mm Timber Screws – Pack of 100
- 20mm Nails – Pack of 100
- Timber Glue – 1 bottle
- 25mm Spade Bit – 1
- 8mm Drill Bit – 1
- Countersink Drill Bit or 3mm + 8mm Drill Bit combo
- Handles – your choice
- Stain/Paint – your choice
Tools Required
- Drill
- Impact Driver or Screwdriver
- Drop Saw or Mitre Box + Tenon Saw
- Hammer
- Sander or Sandpaper
- Paint Brush / Roller / Rag
Instructions
- Cut bottom tray to 600mm.
- Cut perimeter timbers at 45° (2 @ 600mm, 2 @ 285mm short point to short point).
- Using an offcut as a guide block, install perimeter pieces 19mm above tray surface. Glue, countersink, and screw in place. Nail mitres together.
- Cut legs to 285mm. On one end of each leg, cut at 45° and then at 22.5°.
- Drill legs and side pieces for leg install. Drill 25mm hole for dowel.
- Cut dowel into 2 pieces @ 247mm.
- Attach legs with bolts and wingnuts.
- Glue dowels into legs and pin with small nails.
- Drill holes and install handles.
- Lightly sand all surfaces and edges, then stain.
- Once dry, children to paint as desired.
