Delta Goodrem sits down with Today to share exciting news

Australia’s golden girl is back on home soil after a massive couple of months, including her stint at Eurovision, promoting a new album and wrapping a special one night only show in Sydney.
But Delta Goodrem has barely unpacked her bags and she is already preparing to jet off again, with the 41-year-old headed to the UK to compete on Strictly Come Dancing.
Delta Goodrem has a new album, tour and appearance on Britain’s Strictly Come Dancing on the cards. Today
And if that competition doesn’t keep Delta busy enough, the Eclipse singer is also gearing up for a multi-show national tour next year.
“We’re heading back into the arenas for this album and I just can’t wait to perform the new songs, like experience Eclipse together with everybody and do Hologram and we have this song we just shared this week called Warrior,” Delta told Renee Bargh during an intimate sit down.
“I really deeply love the new album, it feels like all the songs in my career, I feel like it’s kind of come to the writing of this record as well and it feels like a full circle moment and it’s pop and I just, I really love the music, so I’m excited to bring it to life.”
Delta’s Pure Tour kicks off on April 8 in Newcastle and she will travel around Australia with her band, before finishing in Hobart on April 25.
And as excited as she is to play her new music and the favourites for her fans, Delta admitted there is one part of the tour planning she is dreading.
“It’s my worst nightmare, sometimes when I get with the band I’ll say I don’t want to sing one song and then everyone mutinies,” she laughed.
“I’m like, I have to try to cut at least one song from the set list because of time constraints, but I go through a phase where I’m really enjoying Sitting On Top Of The World and In This Life and Wings... then you have Predictable... so there are many songs to play with and then deep cuts, you can find ways to bring them in.”
Tickets for Delta’s Pure Tour go on sale Monday at 10am and be sure to check out Strictly Come Dancing when it premieres in September, while the new album drops November 6.
We’d love to hear from you
