Jacqui Lambie's message to aged care residents as 700 facilities battle COVID-19 outbreaks
Tasmanian senator Jacqui Lambie has sent a message to all residents after it was revealed more than 700 facilities are battling fresh outbreaks nationwide.
The comments come after it emerged Aged Care Minister Richard Colebeck, also Sports Minister, declined a COVID committee meeting and attended an Ashes Test instead.
Speaking to Today, Senator Lambie said her thoughts are with those inside aged care facilities who are once again "back in lockdown".

Jacqui Lambie sent an impassioned message to aged care residents this morning. Today
"I want to say this to the people in aged care, we know you've done it really tough," she said."We all want to send our love to you because many of you are back in lockdown again and can't see you families.
"It's not just about the vaccines, this is about the psychological impairment it's having on them, because this (COVID-19) has been going in and out of aged care for two years."

Ms Lambie went on to say it's not just the residents who are suffering."Not to mention their workers, and not to mention the double shifts those workers are carrying out, because people are going down with COVID and having to take time off," she continued.You can watch the full interview at the top of the page.
