Australian singer Cody Simpson has addressed the pregnancy rumours swirling around himself and American musician Miley Cyrus.

Cyrus and Gold Coast-born Simpson started dating in October last year, months after her split from husband Liam Hemsworth was announced.

The rumours started earlier this week, after Simpson revealed he plans to raise his family in Australia in an interview.

Appearing on Today, the musician was interviewed by host, and fellow Queenslander, Karl Stefanovic who asked outright: "There were rumours going around yesterday you were pregnant. Are you pregnant?"

"Oh yeah, for years apparently," the 23-year-old joked.

He revealed to Stefanovic, (who also happens to be a former gym buddy), that he tries not to buy into the interest in the pair's relationship.

"You have to take it in stride. What I try to do is focus on my work and what's important to me," he said.

"For me that's my work and my music. The rest is kind of comes along with it. It's all part of it. Something you have to be cool with."

To say that Simpson has had a big year is an understatement of epic proportions.

In addition to releasing a new single, 'Golden Thing', starting a relationship with Cyrus and winning The Masked Singer Australia, Simpson has teamed up with Bonds for the release of their organic underwear range.

Simpson said he was "stoked" to front a campaign for the iconic Aussie brand.

"To be able to do it with them was unreal," he said.

"Especially because it's their first effort into sustainability and for me as an environmentalist it's important. All the more important to do it and to partner with them on this campaign specifically. I thought it was perfect opportunity for me."

But the work doesn't stop there.

Simpson will also release a few songs around an upcoming poetry book, as well as an album later this year.

"I've always been a writer of poetry and lyrics and all that stuff," he explained.

"I started working on this four or five years ago. Ended up with a collection that I was felt like I wanted to bind and publish. Poetry has been a pretty integral part of my creative fabric. So I just wanted to do a book alongside the music."

When Stefanovic asked whether he and their "time together in the gym" would feature in the release, Simpson joked a whole chapter will be dedicated to it.

The revelation left the Today hosts in stitches.

The news of Stefanovic's fitness exploits left host Ally Langdon confused, so Simpson spilled the details.

"He annihilated me in the gym in Sydney when we ran into each other," he explained.

"We were doing row pull downs. He doubled my score there. I thought I was fit until I met Karl" Simpson told a flabbergasted Langdon.

An overjoyed Stefanovic turned to Langdon and asked; "Did you hear what he said me about my fitness?

"I can do an ad campaign for Bonds. Everyone wants to see that, don't they?"
