'Looking absolutely golden': Today host teased over fake tan excess

Clint Stanaway has been doing a stellar job covering the Australian open in Melbourne this week.

But there is one thing which was distracting Karl and Sarah during their crosses with the Weekend Today host this morning, which they couldn't let slide.

"Can you explain to us why the outside of Clint's arm is perfectly brown, but the inside is white?" Karl asked his guest, Australian Open statistician Rowena Elliott.

Clint has been looking extra bronzed during his crosses at the AO and while his coverage of all the action at Melbourne Park this week is 10 out of 10, the Today hosts speculated he may have dropped the ball with his sprayed on fake tan coverage.

"How's the Bondi tan going bro?!" Karl laughed.

But Clint was adamant it was all natural and he had no extra help, apart from the standard touch-ups given by the Nine hair and makeup team for on-camera staff.

"What are you talking about? Just ignore everything Karl is saying, he is talking complete rot," Clint insisted.

Clint's look had his co-hosts chuckling, but weather presenter Iza Staskowski came to his defence.

"Guys, don't be mean to Clint, I think his spray tan looks really good - it really suits him, he's looking absolutely golden," she said.
