Karl massacres chief of staff's fresh fade on live TV

The role of a breakfast television chief of staff is high pressure at the best of times, but Today's Josh Kuskopf really copped it this morning.

Joshy needed a bit of a trim, so he offered himself up as a hair model for Western Sydney barber, Al Barber, who gave the young Sydneysider a fresh fade ahead of this morning's segment.

People travel from all over the state for a haircut from Barber and his skills have gone viral on social media.

So it was a no-brainer Joshy put his hand up for the segment.

"I gave him a drop fade, but we kept the curls on top, because curls get the girls," Barber said.

Josh was happy with the final result, but when Karl Stefanovic got his hands on the clippers, panic had clearly set in.

"Let's get rid of the perm on the front, he said I could do it," the Today host grinned.

And as Karlos massacred poor Joshy's fade, clearly using a clipper blade way too short, it was like watching a car crash on live television.

"Oh my god! Karlos! What have you done?" co-host Sarah Abo said.

"Joshy avert your eyes, it's best you don't see what he's done."

Karl offered to also help tidy up the back, but thankfully, Barber was standing by to save Joshy and jumped in to blend out the damage Karlos had already done.
