'Our number one agenda': Strengthening ties with the US a high priority for Albanese
Anthony Albanese has hit the ground running for his second term as prime minister.
The Australian leader rallied Labor MPs to Canberra this morning, fresh off a landslide election win.
He already has the ASEAN Summit booked in Malaysia within weeks, kicking off a diplomatic push that also includes high priority visits to Indonesia and the US.

Deputy Prime Minister Richard Marles told Today the government is geared up to strengthen ties with the White House, after weeks of turmoil following Trump's tariffs.
"Our alliance with the US remains the cornerstone of our strategic and foreign policy and it is the number one agenda and that's how the prime minister sees it," Marles said.
"So you'll certainly see him on the front foot."
It comes as Labor rides high, surging to 86 seats while the Coalition takes a crushing dive, sliding down to just 39 seats in the House of Representatives.
