Thousands of vacant homes in NSW and Vic

Thousands of large homes in NSW and Victoria are vacant or occupied by just one person.

Fairfax Media reports there are 100,000 homes underused across the two states, while 2000 six-bedroom homes in Sydney and Melbourne have just one person living in them.

The analysis, based on Australian Bureau of Statistics data, highlights how underused homes are artificially constraining the supply of property, according to the report.
