Teens charged after police chase crash

A car full of teenagers being pursued by police has been struck by a truck while running a red light in inner Sydney.

Police say the car's driver failed to stop when directed by police in Ultimo shortly after 3am (AEDT) on Thursday and a pursuit started.

It ended soon after when the Subaru with five people aboard went through a red light at Wattle Street in Glebe and was hit by a truck.

The five occupants ran from the scene but four were later arrested with the assistance of the police dog unit.

The 17-year-old male driver was charged with police pursuit, drive conveyance without consent, enter enclosed lands, breach bail and never being a licensed person driving a vehicle on a road.

He was refused bail to appear before the Children's Court on Thursday.

A 19-year-old man was charged with carried in a conveyance and enter enclosed lands and was refused bail to appear before Newtown Local Court on Thursday.

A 16-year-old boy was taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital for treatment for a suspected fractured rib and remains in hospital under police guard, with charges expected to be laid.

A 19-year-old man was taken to St Vincent's Hospital after sustaining a cut to his hand and is assisting police with their inquiries.

Police are seeking a fifth person.

The truck driver was not injured during the crash.
