Teen's family 'destroyed' by final words after he was fatally stabbed

The family of a boy stabbed to death in Victoria days before his 18th birthday has broken down after hearing his final words.

The court heard two men who continued to attack the student as he lay dying have shown no remorse.

Mohammad Mohammadi was bleeding out in a car park in Corio in Geelong when he pleaded with police: "I am going to die. Please take off my shoes," on August 23, 2020.

After Mohammad had already been stabbed in the heart by someone else, Alith Wal and Nyol Myianol, who are now 20 and 21, stabbed him again.

The pair today pleaded guilty to causing injury and affray.

They had never met the 17-year-old but their friends had arranged a one-on-one fight.

The court heard both accused were on bail at the time, and despite spending more than 500 days in custody, neither have shown any remorse, or provided an explanation to Mohammad's family.

Mohammad's sister said hearing her brother's final words in court "just destroyed" her family.

"It's unbelievable," she said.

"He was very generous, didn't want to hurt anyone."

Mohammad's mother, a widow who moved her family from Iran five years ago, was planning his party on the night he was stabbed.

He was left brain dead by the attack and went onto life support, which was turned off days later.

A 17-year-old has been charged with the murder of Mohammad.

He will face a children's court next month.
