Chaos broke out during the 2GB Breakfast show with Ben Fordham when the host tried to give away tickets to Taylor Swift's Eras Tour for this weekend's shows.

Fordham put out the call to listeners to give the prize line a ring for a chance to win tickets, but the sheer volume of callers caused a meltdown for their phone line.

"The prize line has died, the prize line is no longer working," the Fordham said.

Show producer Isabella, who was in charge of answering the calls, said she wasn't able to hear anything when she picked up the phone.

The Swifties have done it again, they've absolutely killed our line, we can't get anyone right now, so we can't give ticket away," the 2GB Producer said.

"I can't hear a thing, there must be thousands of people."

Fordham said they had phone technicians trying to fix the prize line, and had come up with a "Plan B".

"Try the open line, try calling the open line right now, Isabella's theory is that won't work either," he said.

Calls began coming through but not without issue.

"Oh my lord look at this board, people are saying the open line's dead, the prize line is dead, but the competition is alive!" 2GB Ben Fordham host said.

One lucky caller Elizabeth was able to get through for a split second before she was cut off, but she was able to win the tickets.

The Breakfast Show's Content Director Luke Davis said the sheer volume of calls was " absolutely extraordinary".

"We've never seen anything like it," Davis told Fordham.

More tickets will be available throughout the day, fans just need to tune in 2GB radio and call in when they are prompted.
