Lottery officials are on the hunt for a ticket holder in Melbourne who has failed to claim their $5 million win.

The mystery winner held one of four division one entries in Saturday's TattsLotto draw.

The winning entry was not registered to a player card, but was purchased from Nextra at Highpoint Shopping Centre in Melbourne.

Nextra Highpoint owner Raj Parbhakar said he was "extremely excited" that one of his customers had won the top prize.

"It's such exciting news! We immediately shared the great news with our staff, family and friends, and we've already started celebrating this milestone by decorating our store," he said.

"Our customers have been congratulating us every day as they see our signage on the way in and it's created such an exciting buzz in our store."

The last division one winning entry sold at the store was back in 2009.
