Tasmanian signs NDIS funding deal

Tasmania has signed up to a new five-year funding deal for the National Disability Insurance Scheme with the federal government.

Under the deal, Tasmania will make fixed, up-front funding contributions and the Commonwealth will pay the balance of scheme costs in the state.

The new agreement will come into force on July 1 and run until 2024, eventually supporting more than 10,000 Tasmanians.
