Cops seize millions in cash and drugs in major syndicate bust

Two of the four people dramatically arrested by police and accused of being part of a major Brisbane drug ring have been kept behind bars.

The other two suspects have been granted police bail, following their arrests yesterday.

Rachel Roberta McKinnon, 27, shook her head while sitting in the dock as her application to be released on bail was refused.

The Magistrate expressed concerns about the seriousness of the charges and the syndicate's suspected link to major organised crime.

Her partner and co-accused Neil Leslie Freemantle, 28, did not appear in the courtroom and his lawyer requested the case be adjourned until Friday when an application for bail would be made.

Outside, he refused to make any comment to 9NEWS.

The four accused were arrested after police pounced on a New Farm apartment yesterday.

Officers allegedly uncovered a stash of 10 kilograms of cannabis inside a Jeep as a man and women sat handcuffed in the middle of the busy intersection after being arrested. 

At the New Farm unit, officers allege they found 40 kilograms of cannabis, two kilograms of MDMA and 300 grams of cocaine with an estimated street value of $460,000. 

Police seized more than $1.5 million in cash. 

A property at Tingalpa was also raided, where a further kilogram of cannabis and more than $9000 in cash was seized.

9NEWS understands the operation, dubbed Operation Quebec Yorker, was part of a wider investigation into a drug trafficking ring operating across Brisbane, with further arrests likely to follow.
