War memorabilia stolen from Tas museum

War memorabilia, including bayonets and medals on loan from families, have been stolen from a Tasmanian museum.

The Queenstown Galley Museum was broken into in the early hours of Sunday and non-replaceable items from both world wars and other conflicts were stolen from two display cases in a military room.

The thief took medals on loan from families, pieces of uniform, bayonets, badges, trench art and flags.
