A man was allegedly found with $42,000 cash as well as drugs in his car in Tasmania.

The 37 year-old from the town of Burnie allegedly had methylamphetamine, GHB and cannabis in the vehicle when he was pulled over in Burnie this morning.

He was charged with drug trafficking and other drug offences by Tasmanian Police as part of Taskforce Scelus.

The taskforce, which launched last month, is cracking down on drugs and guns.

He was bailed to face Burnie Magistrates Court at a later date, Tasmanian Police said.
