Tas parliament a shemozzle: Speaker

Tasmania's Labor opposition leader has been ejected from parliamentary question time during a lower house session which Speaker Elise Archer described as a shemozzle.

On day one of the third sitting week for 2016 Ms Archer - battling the flu and struggling to speak - issued numerous warnings to rowdy MPs and threatened to suspend proceedings before she told Bryan Green to leave the chamber.

"It's an absolute shemozzle in here this morning. If anyone's watching, quite frankly it's embarrassing," the speaker said, admitting she should have sent out more MPs.
