Tas car passengers trapped by fallen lines

Two people were rescued from their car in northern Tasmania after strong winds caused power lines to fall, police say.

The pair was trapped inside the vehicle for a short time after trouble struck as they drove along Browns Road at Scottsdale on Monday afternoon.

Police have issued a warning to drivers as wild weather leaves hazards - including trees and power lines - across roads throughout the state.
