Strong retail result for Tasmania

Tasmania has recorded its best ever monthly retail figures.

The ABS on Tuesday released data showing growth of 0.4 per cent for the island state in February, which for that month made it a top national performer at a rate above the Australian average.

Tasmania's Liberal government is hailing cumulative growth of one per cent in retail since December.
