Tas police tight-lipped about assault

A targeted assault south of Hobart has left police seeking public information about two cars seen in the early hours of the morning.

Detectives want to hear from anyone who saw a Nissan four-wheel drive travelling with a smaller vehicle through the Huon area between about 3am (AEST) and 6am on Sunday.

"The incident, during which a person was assaulted, is believed to be targeted (and) no further details can be provided at this stage as it may lead to the identification of the victim," detective constable Michael Manning said in a statement issued on Monday.
