Heritage Tas farm house blaze accidental

A fire which caused an estimated $1 million damage to an 1860s Tasmanian farm house has been deemed accidental.

Crews were called to the property, View Point, at Barton in the state's central north on Wednesday, to find the dwelling engulfed in flames and the roof collapsed.

"The fire investigation has found that a chimney fire sparked the blaze," Tasmania Fire Service station officer Darren Gye said on Thursday, adding that a number of nearby outbuildings were able to be saved.
