Drink-driver 6 times over limit:Tas police

A woman was allegedly more than six times over the blood alcohol limit when she was pulled over by Tasmanian police.

Police say they could immediately see she was affected by alcohol when they stopped her on the Bass Highway near Sassafras on Sunday night.

The 38-year-old was believed to be returning to her home in Devonport when she allegedly returned a reading of 0.314 per cent.

She was detained for her safety, received an instant disqualification notice and was bailed to appear in court at a later date.
