Suspect in Tamworth killing arrested

Police have arrested a man following a fatal stabbing attack in Tamworth on Sunday afternoon.

Emergency services were called to a unit block in South Tamworth yesterday following reports a man had been stabbed.

Inside the home they found the wounded 37-year-old man.

Despite efforts from police and paramedics he died at the scene.

He is yet to be formally identified.

Around seven hours later, police arrested a 28-year-old man at a home in South Tamworth.

He was taken to Tamworth Police Station for questioning.
