The total spend from yesterday’s Boxing Day sales has been confirmed at a record-breaking $2.1 billion, with NSW generating a massive $584 million of that.
That figure would have been a lot higher, but only CBD stories were open.

So today, it was time for Sydney’s west and regional stores to soak up that pent up shopping demand.
Retailers estimate another $5.4 billion will be spent before mid-January as Australians indulge in some retail therapy.
