Major delays on two Sydney train lines after freight train caught alight

There are major delays on some Sydney train lines after a freight train caught fire near Hornsby earlier today.
Commuters on the North Shore line (T1) and Western Line (T9) have been asked to delay non-essential travel.
Smoke and flames were seen billowing from the container about 2pm today.

NSW Fire and Rescue worked to extinguish the blaze and moved it off the tracks.
People have been asked to listen to announcements and check transport apps as stopping patterns and departure platforms may change.
The flow-on effects are expected to last into the night.
