They allegedly took him to a home in St Marys, then assaulted and tortured him.

Police allege the group targeted and kidnapped the man for financial gain after demanding the victim's brother pay a ransom.

When the brother paid the ransom, the group allegedly failed to set their hostage free and demanded more ransom.

About 5.45am the next day, the men allegedly arranged to meet the victim's brother in Panania to receive the ransom but a fight took place.
