Bullets spray Sydney home for the second time this week

A home in Sydney's south-west has been fired at for the second time this week, with police believing the intended targets of the attacks no longer live at the address.

Bullets were fired at a home in Macquarie Fields at about 10.50pm, with residents reporting they heard upwards of 10 shots fired.

Police say the same address was also shot at on Monday evening.

"I'm not sure that it was a machine gun, but it was a large long arm." Detective Inspector Andrew Mackay said.

"We're getting reports of people hearing the shots across the suburb."

Multiple bullet holes were seen in the sliding balcony door on the second storey of the home.

No injuries have been reported.

Two car fires were reported in nearby suburbs, including a ute on fire in a hotel carpark on Homepride Avenue, Warwick Farm, at about 12.10am, and a black hatchback on Altona Place in Greenacre at about 2.40am.

Police arrested two men, aged 37 and 29, over the Warwick Farm car fire at about 1am on Bauer Street in Cabramatta.

No connections between the fires and the shooting have been confirmed.
