Sydney set to shiver as cold front moves through state

Sydneysiders are getting an early taste of winter with temperatures across the state dropping dramatically as a cold front sweeps through.
The biting conditions were felt this afternoon with showers, plummeting temperatures and wind gusts.
Bankstown experienced a temperature drop of more than 10 degrees between 12.20pm and 3.50pm, with temperatures falling from a balmy 24 degrees to just 13.5.
Wind gusts of up to 82km/h were recorded at Sydney Airport at 2.43pm and gusts of 72km/h were recorded along the harbour and Bankstown.
Camden, south-west of Sydney, experienced gusts of 80km/h.
The cold front has swept in from the south and is moving towards the coast.
In the wake of the cold front, Sydneysiders will experience temperatures of 10 degrees tomorrow morning with a top of only 19.
“As the cold front moves offshore it will bring large and powerful surf condition on Thursday and Friday,” a Weatherzone spokesperson told 9NEWS.
Victoria has experienced its own share of the cold, with fresh snow dropping in the state’s mountain resorts today. It was Melbourne’s coldest day so far this year.
The cooler temperatures are not expected to last, however, with temperatures returning to average on Friday.
