Sydney driver hit and killed exchanging details after minor crash

A man has been killed while exchanging details with another driver after a minor collision in Sydney’s Lower North Shore.

Just after 11.30 this morning, two vehicles were involved in a crash on Tarban Creek Bridge in Huntley’s Point.

One of the drivers, a man in his 80s, stepped out of his car to exchange details with the other driver when he was run over by a passing white van.

“Bystanders stopped to look and help. They’ve obviously been distraught by what they saw,” NSW Police Inspector Anthony Boyd told 9News.

“It was a very traumatic incident.”

The driver of the white van was taken to hospital and treated for shock and multiple broken bones.

Crash investigators remained on the scene this afternoon to determine the exact cause of the incident.

The driver of the van is yet to be spoken to by police.
