Woman pleads guilty over police assault after drink driving

A Sydney woman has admitted to high-range drink driving with two children in the car earlier this month.

Sherelle Pollard appeared at Blacktown Court today and pleaded guilty to three charges, including negligent driving and the assault of an officer in execution of duty.

The 43-year-old blew more than triple the legal limit after an off-duty police officer saw her crash a red Holden Barina into a curb in Kings Langley on May 8.

Court documents state a 10-year-old and an 11-year-old were in the back seat of the car moments before the collision.

An off-duty officer witnessed the crash and intervened, before Ms Pollard became aggressive and punched him in the face.

More police were called and a roadside breath-test proved positive.

Ms Pollard was arrested and taken to Riverstone Police Station, where she returned a blood alcohol reading of 0.165.

She’s been ordered take part in a traffic offenders program before being sentenced in July.
