Man charged over alleged sexual assault of 11-year-old boy

A man has been charged over the alleged sexual assault of an 11-year-old boy at a gym in Sydney's west.

A member of the boy's family notified police on Monday, claiming the child had been assaulted by a man while at a gym in Guilford West between January 2019 and December 2020.

Following inquiries, police arrested a 30-year-old man at a home in Woodpark, in Sydney's west, about 8.45pm yesterday.

A man was taken to a local station where he was charged with aggravated sex assault of a victim under the age of 16 years, and intentional sexual touching of a child between 10 and 16.

The man was refused bail to appear before the court today.
