Sydney man arrested for drunk-driving on ride-on mower
A Sydney man has been charged with high-range drink-driving after allegedly being caught taking a ride-on lawnmower down a footpath on Tuesday night.
The 34-year-old was spotted by Cumberland Highway Patrol allegedly taking the orange petrol-powered lawnmower on the footpath on Ettalong Road in Greystanes at 9.25pm.
He told officers had had driven the mower from Pendle Hill, 2km away from where he was stopped.

Because the ride-on mower was over 250kg, it was subject to conditional registration requirements, but it was unregistered.
The driver was taken to Granville Police Station where he registered a high-range alcohol reading of 0.167.
Police then found his last licence, a learner's permit, had expired over seven years ago.
Because of previous traffic convictions, he had been disqualified from driving until 2021.
He has been ordered to attend Fairfield Local Court on December 17.
He has also been issued several traffic infringement notices in connection to the unregistered lawnmower.
