NSW ambulance paramedics fled vehicle in Western Sydney, fearing patient was 'going to kill them'

Two female paramedics fled their ambulance and took refuge in a Western Sydney home, fearing a patient was going to kill them.

The paramedics believed their lives were on the line as they took a patient with heart pain to hospital at 4am in the morning.

The radio revealed their call for help, as they stopped on a street in Greystanes.

"We're on foot, we've left the car, he's threatening to kill us," they said.

The officers claim the 20-year-old threatened and lunged at them while they were on their own in the van.

He fled as back-up arrived.

Ehtesham Ghaffar was arrested and charged with assault.

He claims he dind't lash out and said he had a panic attack

"I was like 'can you help me? I can't breathe' and they just keep looking at me and I was like 'help me, help me, help me'," he said.   Police are trying to find out what exactly happened.

The paramedics were wearing body cameras at the time of the alleged assault.
