Man charged as another man fights for life after stabbing at Sydney shopping strip
A man has been charged over a stabbing at a shopping strip in Sydney's west, which has left another man fighting for life.
The attack unfolded on Sheffield Street in Merryland about 3.30pm yesterday.
Witnesses said the man was crossing the street when he was jumped by two men dressed in black who stabbed him repeatedly before kicking him in the head.

They ran off, and locals rushed to help.
The 35-year-old victim went into cardiac arrest as ambulance crews arrived at the scene on Sheffield Street.
He was rushed to Westmead Hospital, where he is still in a critical condition.
Police investigating the attack went to a nearby home on William Street and arrested a 31-year-old man shortly afterwards.
He was taken to Granville Station and charged with cause wounding/grievous bodily harm to person with intent to murder.
The man is known to the victim, according to police.
Police refused to grant the man bail.
He is due to front Fairfield Local Court today.
