Teen charged as man fights for life following stabbing outside McDonald's

A 16-year-old boy has been charged following an alleged stabbing outside a McDonald's outlet in Melbourne's north-west overnight, which has left a man fighting for life.

Police allege the same teen was also behind a second attack at St Albans Station yesterday, which has landed a second man in hospital.

Emergency services were called to the McDonald's car park on St Albans Road in St Albans about 6am today after receiving reports a man was injured.

The 37-year-old man was found with stab wounds and was taken to the Royal Melbourne Hospital with lower body injuries in a critical condition.

Police believe the man was involved in a dispute with another man before he sustained his life-threatening injuries.

A 16-year-old Keilor Downs boy has since arrested and charged with intentionally causing serious injury and being armed with criminal intent.

Detectives allege the teenager was also involved in a separate alleged stabbing at the nearby train station, over which a 21-year-old man was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

He will appear in a children's court this evening.
