Spirit of Tasmania chief executive quits

The company that runs the Spirit of Tasmania ferries has lost its chief executive officer, Charles Griplas.

He has resigned after more than six years in charge of TT-Line to take up a position in Victoria.

"TT-Line is in a sound commercial position and I have no doubt it will continue to thrive and deliver for Tasmania during its next phase of growth," he said in a statement on Friday.

Mr Griplas will leave the state government owned company on July 1, when an interim CEO will be appointed until a permanent replacement is found.

Tasmania's new Liberal government is yet to announce its position on the company's two Spirit ferries, due to be replaced in 2017.
