SPC inks $70m deal with Woolworths

SPC Ardmona has announced a 70-million dollar deal with supermarket giant Woolworths to supply 24-thousand extra tonnes of produce.

The deal comes just months after the government refused assistance to the struggling food processor.

The company says the agreement to supply local fruit, tomatoes and beans is recognition that consumers want home-grown products.

The deal is a major boost to SPC after it signed a 100-million-dollar co-investment strategy with the Victorian government earlier this year.
