A 29-year-old Queensland man has been charged with multiple offences including rape following an investigation into alleged sexual offences against an 11-year-old girl.

Police allege the man used social media to communicate with the girl before he travelled to a town in South Burnett, north of Brisbane, on December 16.

Detectives said he met with the girl before the alleged offences took place.
