Police called as council meeting descends into chaos
Police were forced to intervene in a South Australian council meeting after the mayor proposed declaring a climate emergency.
The Onkaparinga Council meeting was shut down last night after up to 200 people attended, including protesters.
The chamber was packed and an overflow room was provided, however some people became upset that they could not hear from there.

In footage recorded at the event, a man was heard screaming "shame" as police tried to escort people out of the building.
Councillors were moved to safety.

Among them were groups like Lions and Rotary Club, who just wanted permission to build a new shed.

The council meeting has been postponed.
Police say there were no arrests.
