Two Adelaide fires prompt warning about unattended mosquito coils
Quick work by firefighters has stopped a backyard blaze in Adelaide from spreading to neighbouring properties.
A Triple Zero call alerted emergency services to the fire in King Edward Avenue in Hawthorn just before 1am today.
The fire destroyed an outdoor pergola area and threatened a neighbouring home, which sustained minor damage.

The fire was caused by an unattended mosquito coil, which ignited the pergola.
It is the second such fire in two days, after a home in the Adelaide suburb of Kilkenny was also damaged on Sunday.
The incidents prompted a warning from South Australia's Metropolitan Fire Service for people to ensure they extinguish mosquito coils correctly.
The warning comes even as South Australians have been put on alert over recent cases of mosquito-borne illness Japanese encephalitis.
Australia's Chief Veterinary Officer, Dr Mark Schipp, recently said the virus had been confirmed at 14 piggeries across SA, NSW, Queensland and Victoria.
