Innovative new solar products are promising to slash electricity bills even as energy prices are set to rise next year.
Multiple new products to make households more efficient, such as solar panel battery storage, solar reverse cycle air-conditioning and solar solutions for pool heating, have hit the market.
For the first time in the southern hemisphere, an Australian resident has installed a new device called Heartbeat, which is a battery storage device that maximises the use of solar power and other smart home devices.

Phillip Sheh installed the device in an effort to "future-proof" his house.
It has the potential to eliminate the need to draw electricity from the grid.
"Hopefully, I'm not going to have a bill at all because of the positioning of where we've got the solar panels and everything like that," Sheh said.

Heartbeat can also independently decide to charge electric vehicles or turn on air-conditioners when there's an excess of solar power.
By coordinating all household systems, it's believed owners could save an extra 10 to 15 per cent.
